My father has what we believe was an old Sydney water board tool trailer. It's built like a brick **** house, and has served the family well for carrying camping gear.
It was rebuilt by my old man back in 2003, and promptly left in the yard awaiting is next adventure, so myself and the brother in law are working on bringing it back up to scratch for a 'time share' arrangement.

I'll log the progress on it here. It should be a basic refurb involving some new tyres and a lick of paint.

As the saying goes, 'Pics or ban'. So here are a few

The first two is to id the rims. They are a light truck rim, running 7.5x16 tyres.

They are of steel construction, hub ring is approx 108mm, pcd approx 140mm from my crude measurements. I have a feeling they might be old hilux or land cost rims of a 70's vintage. Any thoughts on these? I'm looking for either replacement rims and tyres, or just tyres if cost gets to prohibitive.

Rims could be jeep or ford, only vehicles i can think of that has a small 5 stud PCD.

Ford Jeeps(up to 1986) and F100 and Bronco 5 stud, where 139.70, so your crude measurements, where pretty well spot on, they look like early Jeep rims.

BUT, Later model Jeeps are 5x127 and 5x114.30, the ford falcon is also 5x114.30

I think Daihatsu and Suzuki may have been the same as Bronco's too!

Cheers, Mick.

Thanks everyone! I knew it was a bit of an oddball size.

The tyres that are on it run tubes on a standard rim (not a split rim).
I'm new to all this, but as a guess, is it possible to get a standard tyre with a bead on such a rim? Or would it need to be machined to take the steel bead?

Once I can get this nutted out, I'll be on the hunt for some cheap 7.5x16" light truck tyres -tread life can be questionable, but the current rubber is all cracked, so needs to be replaced. Tyre shops charge a 'tyre disposal fee' so I might have some luck paying them a small fee to take some 'end of life' tyres off their hands before they go to the tip or get turned into door mats or water meter covers :p
