Hello all,
From what I understand, the 6x6 ambulance variant has "factory" air-con.

I was wondering if anyone has some info and pics on the factory set up? Does it use the same heater box as the standard 6x6 ? I have noted that it uses a Sanden SD510 A/C compressor. But would love some info on the compressor mounts, drive, condenser model and mounts. Evaporator type?

Or is everyone just going to a more modern aftermarket system?

Any pics, advise and info would be appreciated.

Regards,
Tristan Hartridge

Hi Tristan, does your 6x6 have both the 12v & 24v alternators, you could consider a ply n play roof mount system in 12v or 24v (24v being more efficient ) as per my attached pic. These are not a cheap system but very easy to install, as l stated earlier it is truly a plug n play system…..Gaz.

Love the roof rack !!
I was thinking something a little more original. While the roof mount units are very efficient, I was hoping to put a cab over slide on camper on the back so it would foul up.

I do have the 24V FFR system on it too.

Yes i agree roof mounted air con can get in the way, we were lucky to have a slide on camper already which hasn't interfered with build. ( as per attached ). Keep the 24v alternator will come in handy.

Red Dot make an evaporator unit that would fit on the back wall of the cab between the seats, it's less than 6" thick.

Thanks for the input Pete. I'll look into it ! Does it still need a front mounted condenser or do you cut a hole in rear wall and gets it's airflow from there?

Look up Red Dot.
Our vibe roller has a Red Dot unit, its one of the coldest aircons I have used in machinery.
EVERYBODY like steering the vibe in summer;);););)

That link is a similar unit.
Ours has a rear on roof mounted condensor on the vibe,no reason you cant fit one in the normal place on the 6x6.You could get a huge condenser up front to freeze your nuts off.
ENJOY
