Coolant

50-250 needs new radiator hoses..... Before I invest in the cheapest green stuff.... does anyone have any advice? What should I be using to cool the savage beast?

Put the best quality coolant in you can afford..if you plan on holding onto your truck for a while..diesels are susceptible to electrolysis and will kill a motor if you run low quality coolant or just straight water. A good quality coolant won't need changing for 60,000km.
