We have the 3 disc set which includes the Mailman of the Outback film, very good history in there and great story of his truck recover and restoration.

Some of my photos are on that site. :) from '04.
Tom had a bad fall a few days before the 50th anniversary release of B.O.B. so the RFDS flew him and Val up and he was unfortunately in a wheelchair for the event. Some real legends there for that, like Monty SCOBIE and George BELL and some of the OLDFIELDs, an CROMBIEs.

Most of these people didn't seek any recognition etc and often made 'appearances' only for RFDS or similar functions. Ian DOYLE, (who is a bit of a legend himself(!) ) was involved right through the badger project and managed the Tom KRUSE collection. Ian is a Doco maker but the profits from most of this work has gone to RFDS and the like.

I was lucky as I also scored a photo with Tom on the wall in the KRUSE room at the MARREE Hotel.

(I'm not doing autographs at the moment though!)

Mine are in the gallery under my name, I did a panorama when Tom was outside the pub on the stage that worked out ok (this was pre the camera doing the panorama on its own!)

There were a lot of photos taken that day though, Id think you could put toms together and make it a film!!

I had asked Tom a few times before this visit to sign my book if he got the chance (got a copy on early release) and this time he was swamped and so I didn't bother, Val signed it for me :) and later Tom asked me for the book so he could do it.. I said it was OK and he told me to go and do what I was told! I came back and he signed it and Ian took the photo for me, I was pretty chuffed.

Tom told me once over a camp oven dinner (in MARREE) that he went into ANDAMOOKA in the 50s and enjoyed looking about. I asked what he drove in there with (the road was legendary as a rough road) and he told me he caught a lift...in KOMBI VAN!! (I still cannot picture that!)
