Hi, Hoping someone can help, I brought the disco 2 with a 2 inch lift kit already done, They had not disconnected the air compressor. The compressor has started to play up by running while the ignition off and flatting the battery. I have disconnected the wiring from it by unplugging them but the warning light has come on the dash, that's the not so bad part, when the disco gets over 40 klms Im getting the dinging. How can I get rid of the audible sound. Its driving me mad lol.

The fastest way is to get someone with a nanocom to disable SLS.
Even a dealer should charge very little to switch it off.

Or do you mean it hasn't had a spring conversion but has been lifted with SLS retained?

If it's had a spring conversion and the system hasn't been reprogrammed to coils then it will think it still has airbags. The sensor arms at the rear will give readings and the SLS will try to adjust height. With Airbags the sensor arms need to have an extension plate added to adjust the sensor arm heights.
Nanocom or a Hawkeye will do the reprogram or take it to a Landy workshop as mentioned already.

... untill then remove relay R5 from engine bay and unplug the sensors

The spring conversion has already been done, Where are the sensors?

look near the rear wheel toward the front, it's connected between the radius arm and the chassis

Out of curiosity, what are you going to do with the compressor? If you are interested in off loading it feel free to PM me.

Just need to get somebody to hook up and tell the SLABS ecu that there is no Longer SLS.

Or... Seems the system works well, so If its all working have you thought about just getting two new air springs back in with spacers? Its and excellent system when its working well

I would second that. SLS is awesome and the extra 40mm of off road height is very handy with the D2's long overhang.

Seconded again......

When I got my D2, now 3 years ago. One air bag was leaking and the valve block in the compressor assembly, it took a few days to go down but I needed it for a holiday. It was cheaper and faster at the time to whack coils on.

Only last month I bought 2 new dunlop bags and a compressor assay from the UK, all up $800, they we're on special. Its back running and I'm very pleased with the ride.

Oddly... when I went to coils I developed backlash in the rear somewhere. Especially on the freeway when coming off the gas at about 60kph and back on again. With the SLS back, the backlash has gone. It's as if the driveline is tighter..

Rimmer Bros UK or John Craddock... OEM with you in 3-4 days.

That's for all the advice, I cut the wires to the sensors and that fixed my problem, I have booked it in at a land rover guy and he said he can fix it in 15 mins on his computer.

Then IMO he moves very slowly:)...it's a max 3 minute job:cool:

Yeah im getting the backlash too, It gets violent when L come off cruise control at 100. I will consider changing back. Thanks for that.

Have a think about it, all you need is the bags (and repair the cut wires ;-) )

The backlash is an odd one.. It was not there on Air, certainly there on Coils but only when traveling 60- 80 kph.

Air back on and this has gone? Co-incidence or cure who knows??

I think maybe the Shocks are different for Air than Coils maybe?.. Maybe there are other components which also need changing ?...
