View Full Version : Hard to select Low Range

Hi
I am having difficulty in selecting low range the lever simply does not want to move to the left
I have read a bit about it and it seems it may be a motor on the transfer case.
Any other suggestions?

I'd imagine the lever to be a separate entity to the motor. Perhaps there's something stuck in the workings of the lever down below? A 5c piece could be all it'd take!
Cheers

I can't see anything out of the ordinary, but I will take a closer look

All the lever does is flick a switch, so to speak, if it goes into low when you get the lever over the motor is doing its job, hopefully something silly, and free to fix
Let us know what you find

The lever won't actually move left, it feels like it is hitting a stop of some kind
Once I get it to move left (as I have once or twice after many tries) it goes into low just fine
So it seems mechanical, or a 5c piece!

Is the screw in the back of the shifter?

It turns out there was a bit of crap in the lever mechanism plus the adjustment is very tight which means I really have to hold the lockout tab very tightly to get it to select low
It's working now though
