inverter fan on

hi all.

yest in the heat had my D2 at a worksite under immense heat from midday till 430pm, when i returned to the car i found a strange noise coming from the rear. upon inspection it was the inverter hard wired to the aux battery in the rear not on but the fan working, presumably to cool it down. had not been used at all.

today it did it again. not to concerned as its powered by aux battery, but at the same time dont want it draining my aux battery. apart from disconnecting from power source which i dont want to do, what other options do i have. have others experienced this. not sure how many amps it draws either.

from memory its a 600w inverter, bigger one not a small one.

i did think about its location next to the window and either tinting that window or moving it elsewhere. cheers

I have a 50 amp Anderson Plug just inside the rear door on the RH side on top of the trim just behind the storage box and I plug in the inverter as it is needed. Also use it for my 150LPM compressor.
Interesting that the thermal switch for the fan is set so low.

thx Phillip, not sure what temp it got to in the back for 1/2 day in the sun but it did trigger the sensor to run the fan. potentially if parked in the sun all day approx 8hrs then the fan could be running all that time, hope it wont drain the battery even thou its the aux. may just keep an eye on it and measure the inside temp to get a clearer idea of when it kicks in. thx

BTW I found that my Pure Sine 150Watt had a parasitic drain even when turned off. It could have been the fan with mine but I think they drain anyway. That is why I added the plug.
