Well, got the phone call from wife after 2008 Puma went into limp mode on the school run. After getting to the school car park noticed a significant amount of coolant on the ground. Topped up the system, kept eye on temp gauge and got her home (Puma, not wife) in one pice.
After getting it home I couldn't get it to leak like it had in the school car park, even with a fully system of distilled water...
But, after a good 20min stationary with the AC on and donk running at 2000rpm noticed a few drips on the underside of the power steering pump.
Still further investigation, I've concluded it is the water pump beginning to dribble although very very slow. Rang Land Rover dealer, Puma water pump is $580.00 ex-Eastern States (I'm in Fremantle). Had a good laugh with the LR Spares Parts guy on the phone and left it there... :(
Has anyone had a similar issue? Where have they bought a replacement pump? How much and where from? Genuine versus Non-genuine? How quick to change out existing unit with new? What about the genuine coolant, thoughts?
Learned knowledge from the masses appreciated in advance...
