Would normally have been cheese and vegemite but threw a half full jar of the stuff in the bin a couple of weeks ago.
Wont be replacing it.

I had a cuppa soup and a herb roll.
That'll be going in the toilet in about four or five hours.

What was wrong with the Vegemite? We go through so much of the stuff, I should have shares in it...

And, they say land rovers are unreliable, there are at least a few owners about who have WAY to much time on their hands so obviously not fixing their trucks today!

GarryCol... Thanks for sharing! :p

Last year leaving LA for home. the Afro-American US Customs Officer looked at my passport and asked me if I liked Vegemite. I have no idea why. Maybe he asked all Australians. A trick question perhaps to confirm one's nationality. I told him "Yes, it's good for you. A baby in every bottle". This response seemed to satisfy him.

I was going to have left-over pizza, but sadly, someone had eaten it for breakfast.

So, I didn't have lunch.

... Good thing I was still full from breakfast.

Lunch was one slice of buttered toast topped with; one mashed up hard boiled egg, sprinkled with pepper n' salt, a couple of fine slices of tomato and topped with some sliced lettuce.
Washed down with a standard, cup of instant coffee.

Then a one hour of shut eye, - Poppy nap!

Then back to mowing the lawns.

Nothing to do with lunch, but reminded me of arriving at Chicago airport in Oct 2001, when the Afro-American security lady asked me to remove my boots, which I duly did, RM Williams of course, then she asked if 5 Percy Street, Prospect, Sth Australia was my address, to which I replied of course it is as all Australians have their address sown into their boot tabs incase the boots get lost during security checks! Boy she was impressed:D

I heard on the news first and then read the label on the jar.

A few years ago we were just outside of Toowoomba visiting an old friend of my Father's on the Darling Downs.
They were farmers,Her husband had passed away several years ago, & she was almost in a wheelchair, but she insisted on making us some sandwiches for lunch:...fresh bread, fresh tomatoes, plenty of butter,.....good, simple food, been around forever, but,......YUMMEE,...I can still taste 'em!

I usually buy Dick's OzeMite and all his other products first.
At the time there was none on the shelf so I bought that vegemite.

This morning shopping, I found it so I purchased two large jars of OzeMite,
should last me a year or so.

I heard somewhere that Dick is closing down his factory ?
Cripes I hope not as they are quality products, all Australian and the profits were going to charity.

Also bought two large jars of OzePeanut butter, jams and sauce.

Ok, now we know what you were on about, I've deleted all comments pertaining to it and expect that it stays that way now. If you want to discuss that any further, please head on over to Current Affairs and start a thread there.

G Day all
From what I have been told i wont be eating till well after Christmas . Last thing i ate was fish and chips that was three days after i shattered my jaw in two places broke it in another and broke the bone holding in my top teeth. I was sent home and told i had a small fracture. Five days later i got a phone call from the hospital to come in as someone else had seen my x rays and i needed surgery . Enjoy eating i miss it:mad:

A couple of years ago I had a holiday on Norfolk Island. I had a jar in my luggage just in case.

On our recent holiday to the US we ran out of vegemite as vegemite toast was about the only thing we could eat for breakfast after the first week.
Pancakes with sugar syrip - Yuk
Chocolate chip muffins - Yuk
Cereal with extra sugar and 2% fat milk - Yuk
Sweetened bread toasted with vegemite - Tolerable

We paid $15.00 for a tube in San Jose.....

Tote

Have a speedy recovery.

I guess the old "liquid lunch" won't be all it's cracked up to be. Especially after a few weeks.

If this is anything like Pecoprep then I share your pain, and a few years ago there was an email doing the rounds that mentioned that at your stage of the process it had a become like a time machine, & you are passing things you haven't even eaten yet. Shouldn't laugh as I have another procedure next month:o
