Back in the 1980's and 90's I was involved a lot in the photo trade and a friend of mine ran a professional photographers laboratory. As well as processing print film (C-41) he also had a dip and dunk machine to process Kodak Ektachrome (E-6) plus a slide mounting machine. He had quite a good business going until he sold out in the late 90's, he was an astute businessman and he knew the end was near for conventional film processing.
Kodachrome of cause could only be processed by Kodak.
