Two years ago I was so reluctant to change my dying Nokia e-serie just because of the excellent offline mapping app they offered. Note wanting a new Nokia because of Microsoft OS I opted for a Samsung.
I just found that the same app is being offered for Android smart phones under a the new name HERE, in a beta version for the time being.
The app and the map were downloaded and tested, it is like the old one with updated POI, it also offers 3d Maps, terrain maps, satellite maps and community maps. I still have to check other option such as the map creator.
I have tried it with Samsung built in GPS and it works perfectly well.
