View Full Version : Tyres, Done to Death.

I know tyres have been done to death over the years but sometime in the next couple of months I have to replace mine.

I currently have Cooper A/T3's in 265/65R17 LT on the D3.

Now, I am trying to keep the cost of this exercise as inexpensive as possible but still want the best tyre I can get. Funny how we all want that.

I have come across tyres called Gripmax online in the correct size, LT & 120/117Q load & speed rating.
I can get these for about $200 a corner delivered then I will have to pay the bloke $35 each to fit & balance them.

Has anybody heard of these tyres? Are they any good?

They look OK & $350 - $400 a corner is just out of the budget at the moment.

Thanks

Have you taken a look on eBay ?

There's a guy with some used bridgestones in your size at $70 each and quite a few other listings of near new or new parallel import sets of known brand tyres at reasonable prices.

There is also a set of conti cross contacts for 820 etc.

Bridgestone D697 (265/65R17 LT) great tyre, we have these in 265/60/18 on our standard 18s, they were $350 fitted and balanced from Bridgestone, the more you buy the less they cost type deal, (eg) $386 for 4, $350 for 5;)

17s may even be cheaper.

Bridgestone D697 (265/65R17 LT)
I may be looking hard at these when my Conti AT in the same size wear out, depending on how the Contis survive. With only 20K its too early to call.

Hi Graeme,
I found the Bridgestone D697 to be a great tyre, I inherited them once on a D2 I bought, great all round tyre, would have another set anytime.
