Saw these on the mud tech site, claim to replace the 19's & they clear the caliper without modification, they look good too, but at roughly $440 each plus freight, they won't be cheap.

If it brings some competition to the market, that's great. $2,500 for a 2nd set of rims is just too much! Add to that tyres- and the fact that they get only occasional use, it's hard to justify for a tight &rse like me!

Don't ever buy anything from him!
He was the guy who stole LLAMS from Graeme and virtually copied it.

In that case, I take it back. That's not cool.

Considering how cheap the Compomotive units are in the USA... Perhaps its time the local price was revisited and revised a little

If the Aussie dollar was a little more competitive against the pound, it wouldn't be so bad. Plus of course, the US doesn't have our stupid tax system that taxes a tax ........

I'm trying to get a new design (in cooperation with Compomotive) out sometime in the next 12 month that will be a little cheaper.

Cheers,

Gordon

Hi Gordon,
Any chance the new design rim will fit the L405 with TDV6 engine ?

I thought the current design fits? You're restricted to tyre size due to the upper control arm design.

Hi David,

I was over in the UK last week (the factory was officially closed for the summer break) and have had a bit of a talk over the new design. They'd probably work out a bit cheaper (still figuring out the tooling costs) and would have the same load-rating as the PD1881, but wouldn't be as strong (the PD1881 is massively under-rated).

However, if it does go to production, the new rim would be a 2016 release.

Cheers,

Gordon

Thanks Gordon,

Are you able to provide any insight to the design of the new wheels? Will they be a variant of the PD1881 or something completely different ?

Quote from Gordon:

Hi All,

Been out on the Nullabor and have only just seen this thread. The plummet in the dollar means the major reason for developing a new Compomotive doesn't really apply anymore. And as I'd have to fund it (in British Pounds!), it isn't going to happen any time soon.

Regards,

Gordon
