The US has a disgusting history of human rights abuse that many Americans choose to ignore or even acknowledge. Things have improved but much more still needs to be done. I have been told the American Indians are one of the worst treated native people in the world.

im not trying to take away what happen as being wrong, but times were different then, it was a different culture. i dont think its right to judge past events with todays standards.

I was recently reading about the original populations of the Japanese Islands who differ from the mainland invaders which constitute the modern Japanese lineages. Very few of the indigenous peoples have survived apart from isolated pockets in the North and they are very much considered second class citizens. I guess that's just humans all over.
