Hi, will the following product work with my 1998 Discovery 2 300TDI.

I almost cooked my diesel due to a faulty temp guage. I need an audible alarm.

Australian spec D1 300tdi's don't have an ECU at all therefore you won't get any joy from plugging anything into the OBD port. There are markets where ECU's were fitted and the wiring is present for them. There are plenty of temperature alarms around suitable for directly monitoring the engine by a sensor screwed to the cylinder head. Search the forum, I'm sure you'll get lots of results!
