Just wondering if there is anything out there these days that looks the goods and can handle a 35" tyre. The Americans seem to be producing some more stuff for P38's in recent years.
Rons looks good. Anyone (including Ron) know where he sourced it?

4x4 Design and Engineering made mine, It'd definately handle a 35" tire.
They're a good bar, but he only makes them when there's a few orders, and they're not cheap.

Did you mean mine? It is a Kaymar item.

p38rover - you were asking about the ladder and roof rack/basket earlier. This is where they went :)

BTW: I no longer have the blue Rangie above, but I did move the rear bar, number plates and roof rack to my other P38.
charliebrisbane - my rear bar was made by 4x4 Intelligence in Melbourne in 2008. They either no longer exist, or maybe have re-branded as the 4x4 Design company that Benji referred to?
Cheers, Paul.

I made my own rear wheel carrier using the bulk of a rijidij kit - made for LC 80 series, but Murray was good enough to leave out the chassis bracketary. I made my own chassis bracket, which retained the OEM bumper. I documented it here on the forum. Let me know if you'd like the link. It'll take a 33" tyre - reckon 35" would also fit.
If you want to replace the original bumper then the above comment isn't helpful at all. I was looking at a D2 rear bar by MCC, when I had my winch bumper/bull bar fitted. Reckon it could be made to fit and that would provide two swing away rear arms.

Terrafirma have released a new front and rear bumper for the P38. I've attached a few images from facebook group "Range Rover P38 - [by www.stockholmviews.com/p38]"
Cons;
Not sure how pricey to ship here (have enquired just tonight)
No swing away spare tyre mount but looks easy enough to add
Pro's;
Looks very solid
Good departure angles
Looks fairly cheap over fabrication

That's a nice looking bit of bar work!
Is that a large blister on the sidewall of your spare?

You managed to salvage the rear bar - did you not?

Rub it in why don't you Steve ha ha.
I like your bar. Just a pity that Benji seemed to busy to make mine happen. Might get in contact with him again and see if he is keen for another once off fabrication.

How have they managed to squeeze a winch in behind that bar?
Has any one manage to get a winch in without it hanging down so far?
Only way I can see is to move the coolers out the way and mount it further back, or cut the lower brace out and lift it up!!!!?????

Steve, that is a very nice looking bar.
What car was it actually designed for as it seems to fit very well?

Sure Steve will comment, but he got it fabricated for his previous P38 by a guy near Newcastle NSW (Rampt Customs). The same guy that made my sliders. Does great work and passionate about getting things to look the goods.

It was custom made by Rampt Customs in Warners Bay NSW. It was the only thing I could salvage from my previous P38 !
Not a lot of change from $2.5K :eek:

Nice one. Question answered. I wonder if he would do more if there was some further interest and pre-payment???
I don't have a p38 again yet. But am looking at getting one in January.

Charlie,
Sorry to thread steal here lol, if you're looking at '99 onwards for your P38 purchase and want one that's decked out, give me a PM and we can talk. I'm selling the Dmax I currently own but have nothing but tyre kickers wasting my time, so have contemplated selling the P38 instead...
Cheers
