Ok, thoughts ideas or suggestions to do or check.

My 1993 discovery and I went to the beach yesterday and spent some time on the sand, and in places, the St Albans bay track is extremely soft.

At times we ran in high gears in low range and on some occasions when under pressure, low range would pop out into neutral and needed my wife to hold the stick forward to keep it in. I think I was more annoyed and ****ed off about it than she was (probably for the best).

Gearbox has recently been rebuilt, but could the problem be within the box, or simply be in the linkages. Or do I just need to be using low range more often?

Since the box has been out i would expect it to be the linkage adjustment if it was working fine before the rebuild.

I can't remember if it worked fine before or not to be honest. Low range hasn't been used for a while really!

I remember it popped out once before going down hill riding the gears, but it was coming out powering on up a beach exit. Maybe it is just adjustment. wonder if I have to take the console out to do that or if I can do it from underneath.

Can be a sign of wear, but because the box has been out its more likely linkage.

You can get your hands to the linkages from below, but it is very hard to see what you are doing. Console out.
