Thank you to all for coming along on the trip from Beaudesert to Mt Barney and down to Lake Maroon for the day.
we met at maccas' for the start of the trip and had a leisurely drive out to Rathdowney and cranked out to Mt barney upper portals track.
from the comments our group enjoyed the track and we had a short break at the top and descended to lake maroon for a leisurely lunch provided by the club, you should have been there for that!
thanks josh and philco for the food and preparation,
we enjoyed the lunch from the comfort of our three car and awning shelter setup and the youngsters enjoyed a swim and tying me up.
must get my awning set up on a car also.
It was hot on the way home with 38 deg coming south from Boonah, but the airconditioning of the little s2a coped with the heat in fine style,
we did settle down and track back a little slower as it wasn't worth pushing hard in the heat.
we even had a visitor in a zuk climb the hill with us and they enjoyed the trip also.
south of Canungra we had to work hard to get up that steep pinch past where the camera sits, but it got up and over, tonic almost caught us but once we got over that we were away, tony, those spotties are bright!
hopefully the shutterbugs will throw up some piccies, as usual I only took pics with my phone and really should just use it as that, a phone...

thanks for a great day, with no problems of a serious nature.

Thanks for another great day out and for us a look at a few new things we didn't know existed.

Our sort of day, just enough off-roading that you have to concentrate, but without any chance of damage to the car or marriage. Although there was mention of a sports something that would have been better, not really sure what she was on about.

Up to the top and a short walk gave a great view of the valleys and of what was to be our lunch stopping spot Maroon Dam. Great camping spot with limited amenities, although the manager was excited to tell us that $400k was about to be spent on major upgrades including shower and toilet blocks.

The day got a bit hot and the drive home was a little humid but enjoyable, we chose 3 x 1 x 100 air-con, as I am yet to get a new compressor. For those not in know, that's 3 windows down, 1 vent open and 100kph.

Thanks again to the organisers, trip leader, cooks and company.

I did my charity work for the week Sunday by letting Philco have a drive as he's been roverless for sooooo long [emoji56]

Sounds like one and all had fun. Thanks Harry for piloting the day, it's a very nice part of our backyard. I was disappointed i couldn't join you.
Cheers Ian
