View Full Version : Samsung S4 continual reboot - battery issue?

My phone keeps turning itself off and rebooting itself. And I mean it just keeps doing it, constantly.

Battery life also seems very low.

Could the issue be related to the battery? Is a new battery likely to fix it?

If so,

does anyone know a good place to buy genuine / high quality phone batteries?

I had the same with my S4, I got a $7 battery off ebay to test it and it fixed the problem.
The cheap battery lasted about three months and then I got a new Samsung one I think it was around $20.

Cheers

I found a heapof info from google and via other forums.

There are plenty of suggestions but they also start with

1. Try replacing battery !

As my phone went from 100% to 75% in 1 1/2 hours this morning I reckon the battery must be pretty rooted.

I had a similar problem with mine - it was related to a torch app I'd downloaded. Every time I used it, after I'd finished with it the phone started getting hot & the battery would completely drain in under an hour. Once I uninstalled the app no more problems

3 possible causes that I know of personally.

1 is the battery that you have already identified.

2 is an app that plays silly buggers

3 is a slightly ill fitting protective cover. I had one, and SWMBO had a similar issue. As soon as the bling cover was removed, the phone behaved itself.

1. I'm going to get a new battery and try that.

2. Identifying which one would be the hard part !

3. I have mine in an otterbox defender since I bought it. Never had any issues til recently.

The combo of symptoms points to the battery I reckon.
