I did some (very) rough calculating to come up with a combined horse power figure. I counted as best I could 205 locos in the picture,and assuming they have 2500hp came up with 512,500 or over half a million horse power. Gee,I must be bored:(

It didn't mention the collection of VR Hitachi suburban trains at Molong, NSW, owned by John Horne. He apparently had onsold over 100 of them to museum groups and those wanting office/accomodation/storage that was a little bit different.
Purchased from a short-sighted VR when out of service for a reported $2600 each, the move was a pretty wise investment as VR had need to purchase back three, three car sets from him for spare parts, for somewhere around $60,000 :P
