Linux gurus, please help

My wife would like to remove WinXP from the very slow LT and use Linux which is less demanding in resources.
The problem is that she has many bookmarks in Mozilla that she does not like to loose.
It is possible to save the Mozilla bookmarks in Windows XP in a usb stick and then install that file on Linux.
What it is the name of the bookmarks file in Windoxs XP and where it is located?
Where supposed to go in the Linux files system?

yep

when you export from mozilla it saves it as one big html file

go to bookmarks, show all bookmarks, that gets you into the bookmark manager so you can export/backup/import

you can then import into most browsers, independent of OS
