Superwinch husky 8

Hi, I am looking into winches......has anyone got any first hand experience with the husky 8 superwinch? I like the idea of a worm drive for strength and also that you can fit 150ft of cable on the drum. any feedback would be great Cheers

Carefully check your fitting space as the worm drive really chews some real estate on one side...

They're a strong unit, but slow...

Oh yes, and 8000lb is a bit light on for a Defender :cool:

Yes i see they do take up a bit more room and i believe they have slightly different bolting patterns aswell. I figured if i need the extra pull i will use a snatch block with the extra cable they provide. But all in all from what i have read they seem to be a strong unit
