Hi there. Can anyone please recommend someone that will happily swap out the motor in my D3 for a ford unit? 2.7L. I keep hearing it can be done but several people have declined. I can supply the complete engine and I am in NSW. Thanks.

Sorry Silver Surfer, I can't recommend anyone to fit the Territory engine but search this forum for writings by BusinessConnected. He's been through the process and wrote up what was needed for any future swaps (read, very good writeup).

Your mechanic simply can read the writeup and source the parts from your engine, swap to the new/second hand Territory engine and you will have the best of both worlds i.e. cheaper engine and the D3 back on the bitumen/dirt (cross out your preference...) doing what it is supposed to do.

Thanks mate. Yep saw that and asked for pm with his mechanics details. Would even consider going to vic to get it done. No one I have spoken to so far interested. Must have too much money !!

I am in the very early stages of discussions with one of my mates who is an excellent mechanic/vehicle restorer/LR trained wheel aligner/custom body builder etc. etc. about him offering the Territory to D3/4 motor swap as a service. He's building a new workshop in the next couple of months, based in outer eastern Melbourne. Will keep the forum informed on progress...
