Probably just me but it doesn't 'look' right, like it would fall over on a cross slope.
Wouldn't need snorkels. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Hard to get these days.
Approx 5K landed in a low gear set (7.1???)
So if it has to drive anywhere at speed (if series can do that  ) they will be limited to about 80km an hour.
There is a volvo portaled county ute in the LROCV.
I only know of three sets or so in Aus, but there are more.

Have you an idea of the cost difference between these and say going Mercedes mog diffs like Sam Overtons "Mog Rover" ??
Would need to be a complete mutation though, I find it hard to believe the 2.25 would have the torque to turn them even with helpful gearing.

 ...... it is all about the gearing...
look at the Toyota guys running 37" + tyres.. on crappy hilux engines...
they turn the tyres easy due to the fact they have 2 transfers and 4.something to 5.29 diff ratios
as for the Mogs.. it is a huge job compared to fitting volvo portals due to the torque tube design which needs re working with a driveshaft flange needing to be machined and fitted... plus Mogs are heavy ass axles... volvos are almost a bolt in

Maxi-Drive in Queensland make and sell them in kit form. Although cost is somewhere around the 15k mark from memory! Bolt straight onto Defenders, and series as well!

So he bought the set that was for sale to suit a rangey about 1.5years ago?
They were modified by Bill (who made his own).
He also did the county.
