Twice now my D4 has decided to idle at 1100rpm with no input from me.
Both days it was reading over 38degC on the dash. The motor was cold, would it be the thermo fan with boost locking in because the ambient temp was high???
The only other thought was it wanted to top the battery up,no warnings saying it was low.
Both times it only did it for less than 5 mins, both times it was a hot day but cold start for the motor.

Yep mine does that too and on hot days mine will start with the rad fan running for a couple of minutes then turn off, but certainly it will idle over 1000rpm like yours.

Yup, same here.
Old one didn't do it (2009 MY10) but the MY13 does.

Mine does it too Andrew. It will drop back to normal revs if you shift it out of Park.

Mine does it as well i would guess its something to do with the air con there as it seems to rev up as you said only on hot days and then settle back down. But always as soon as out of park or neutral it goes back to normal.

Me too, but only on pretty hot days,

Mine does it several times every day. Haven't owned it that long, but maybe during the dry it may do it less. Quite often on initial take off, the fans roar above the engine. It doesn't actually idle down if taken out of Park, it just sounds like it does due to being put under load.
It will idle down after a minute or two though.

It's the A/C kicking in on a hot day. My MY10 does it too. Did it today as a matter of fact.
