Hi everyone,

Before getting into it, I'm new to Aulro so hi!

I have a MY13 110 and I'm wanting to add an expedition roof rack that is both compatible with a roof top tent, and still allows the sun roof to open most of the way.

The current thinking is something like a 2200X1350 with partial side bars and a gap for the sun roof.

After much hunting around, research and asking people I've found solutions for either, but not both. An example being the ARB Touring Rack (https://www.google.com/search?q=arb+touring+rack&es_sm=91&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=NOmZVNT4J4vw8gXgp4GwBQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAg&biw=1920&bih=985#imgdii=_), except for the fact that it's 1250 wide and therefor not compatible with defenders.

Any tips, suggestions, warnings, etc. for where I might find what I'm after?

I also see that some people putting these tents on use a roll bar / roof rack setup instead of the gutter clamps to affix their roof rack. Any words of wisdom about the gutters bearing 2 people plus equipment?

Thanks in advance.

You could fit a 2m 90 rack, that would allow you to still open your sunroof, but it would limit the amount of gear you could carry.

You could also fit a 2.8m Patriot rack, we supply these with a cut out for the sunroof.

I have not had any problems with the gutters carrying a 65kg tent with 2 people sleeping in it.

A cheaper alternative would be HD roof bars, but that is restricting your ability to fit a Awning if you want one.

Hey, thanks so much for getting back to me.

Awesome collection of parts on your ebay store.

So, would a 2.8 or 3 meter patriot rack with accommodation for a sunroof and the optional luggage rail (http://www.landybitz.com.au/patriot-roof-racks) be the way to go? Can you get a luggage rail that's full width and partial length on both sides?

Cheers.

...also, a small & hopefully helpful piece of feedback for your website: Any light boxes that appear towards the top of your pages (to show larger versions of the images on your site) are obscured by the top navigation. Should be a quick & easy fix for whoever looks after your website :)

It could be the way to go.

2.8 would be the longest you could have, you can have any combination of luggage rail you like with a Patriot rack, but you could also cut down the Hannibal one to suit.

I am looking into the website glitch ( still working out how to fix it )
