View Full Version : Protecting seat from denim marks

Hi guys, absolutely loving my almond/arabica interior but I'm having some issues with denim staining the lower section of the seat back.

Does anyone know of a small seat cover/protector that will cover say the bottom 1/4 of the seat back? Don't really want to opt for a full seat cover as I love the leather look and feel.

I have black seats and my memory of maintaining tobacco coloured ones is hazy, but I've always used Dubbin on the seat facings (rub it on, wait a while, buff it off, just like on a shoe) and don't recall ever getting stains or marks. Not sure what your leather is like (ie. soft or hard) but I reckon it's hard to go past Dubbin as a seat moisturiser/preserver/protector.

You should stop wearing denim and change your dress style to leather pants ...................... problem solved. ;)

Oooops : Just realized that I probably shouldn't post things like this on here. Don't want to give a certain D4 owner just a little south of Perth any ideas. :p:p:p

Classic !

I think the seats work best with corduroy and tweed. Also, Dubbin protects from pipe ash and latte spills.

ewww. I live in Cairns and thought my leather got a lot of sweat action but that's beyond my membership.

I'm black and I don't get stains either.

I found the only way to stop the denim stains was to fit full sheepskin covers, which I really hate as they are very uncomfortable.

If you find another better option please mention it as I would love to throw the sheepskins away.

The previous vehicle I had I used towels on the seats held by string around the head rests. They are cheap, easy to fit and also easy to clean.
Good luck.

I will send you a jar of Dubbin for free.

And please send me your seat covers in exchange.

I am looking for sheepskin seat covers, your's sound like they should be nicely bedded in. :D

More likely that Deb is not impressed with what you wear when driving the D4. ;)

Heard that those tight leather pants were getting a bit too uncomfortable for you recently, especially with the warmer weather and firefighting activities.

Rumour has it that you have recently been seen wearing these during trips to Perth in the Disco ......................

Can't believe how timely this post was. My wife is at a hen's party and I just sent her an image of this and told her to make sure she looked in on the Defender on her way in as I will be draped seductively over the bonnet wearing these!

LMFAO

But seriously, any good quality leather cleaner followed by leather conditioner is the go.
Otherwise call a professional leather cleaner eg www.myleatherdoctor.com.au or your local professional auto detailer.

The almond leather and carpet looks great, but I went dark interior so the marks and stains wouldn't be so much of an issue.
