Took the disco to bribie on friday for my first beach drive, lots of fun
Llams made it sooo easy too
Saw a couple of nice discos in convoy as well coming the other way flashing their lights, saying hello
Only problem was the slow landcruisers getting in the way as they struggled in the sand :D and the poor chap who slid down into the big ditch on the inland track who had to be towed out, they really need a one way sign or something
Loving the disco :D

Was that me and my mate you saw?

Pitty about the Great Wall wagon and Pajero getting stuck on the inland track.......its was funny, as we drove past them in shear confidence we heard one of the older ladies yell out.." i want a 4WD like that one" Awesome !

Did the same run on Friday coming back via the inland track on the rising tide. Did not see the stuck guy but would not want to slip down some of the raised sections - recon you'd be stuck for ages and no way to get out on your own.

Luckily only had oncoming traffic on sections where we could pass - someone is in for a long reverse on the narrow sections.

We must have all come back at fairly similar times
The guy who went AWOL was trying to get off the track for the long queue of cars going the other way, but slipped, he was very lucky to get out

Great day,

My wife and family were up there on the Saturday after Xmas, apart from some rain we all had a great day.

I have posted some pic's in the Sticky, show us your Discovery if you're interested.

Cheers

Bugger would have come along too if I had seen this in time. Did a 4x4 course on Bribie when I was in the RAAF back in early 90s.

We had 110s. Mostly drinking, fishing and BBQ with a bit of 4WD thrown in for fun.

Are D3s allowed in this grouop? haha:angel:

Happy to arrange another trip soon, on a Saturday if ok ( leaves Sunday to vacuum the sand out ) :)

and yes, any type of Land Rover is ok to join us, as long as you have an air compressor to pump up your tyres and a UHF Radio!!

stayed tuned!

My air compressor would need a rather long extension lead! UHF I don't have. Might have to buy a little handheld unit on the cheap.

I normally just go very sedately to the nearest servo and pump up the tyres afterwards. I'm sure there is one over surf side?

If not any recommendations on a suitable pump?

sctsprin
14th January 2015, 05:51 PM
Yeah the servo isnt too far away and you can get a UHF very cheap
