300TDI alternator

I know this has been done before , but I did the search and couldn't find a definitive answer .
I have a late 97 300TDI defender with smaller pulley , and I go through alternators every year or so , always the front bearing .
Is the disco alternator any better , and if so . does it bolt straight on ?
A part no. and supplier would be nice .

No panic as I have fitted a spare for now .

it does bolt straight on and i use the disco pulley

I will also add that the heavy brown wire from the alternator is a thicker gauge on the disco compared to the defender

Does anyone know the difference between pt nos AMR5425 & YLE10113 .
Both are supposed to be 100a disco alternators .
