Recently held up by a failed throttle hose (replaced under warranty).
Have been told that there is a known weakness in turbo hoses in these engines - which could be a big problem on remote trips.
Any experience or advice out there?
E.g. is it worth having some spares on a trip? Could a moderately skilled person replace one out on the road? Should higher spec hoses be fitted?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but there was a recall on this problem early last year. Maybe you should check with your dealer to weather this has been done to your truck. :)

Heaps about this on the forum,...do a search.
But really, you should've had a recall notice from JLR,....did you buy the vehicle new, or alternatively did you fill out the change of ownership form?
Anyway, contact your Dealer, he'll tell you whether your vehicle is in the affected VIN range.

Thanks to the two responders on this.
Will follow up with wider search and queries.
(Bought the vehicle second hand about three months ago from WA. Dealer (in Melb) who did the warranty fix did not mention any recalls.)

I think the recall notice was; Q360V2. The fix used to be a zip tie or two, but I think now in the UK at least, it involves a two piece bracket that bolts to the alternator, it wraps around the pipe firmly holding it in place. Then there's a second bracket which I think sits behind the front grill, the pipe just rests in this one.
I say I think because I can't seem to find the right thread. But I remember reading about it a few months ago on.

If I can find it I'll post the link, it's been a long day, hope it helps.

Not sure about the Bulletin code but OZY is corrct with discription of the repair.
You get a new reinforced hose and some brackets this hose is better quality and the brackets also prevents it rubbing against power steering lines and getting air leaks.
