My Discovery has new head light lenses again.
I used Meguiars Headlight Lens Correction. I removed the lights, removed the painted part from the bottom, then followed the instructions on the box.
I spent about 30-45mins on each light. Check out the pictures for the results, i'm thrilled and it does make a difference to the effectiveness of the headlights.

Hi,
Was it difficult getting the lights out? I 've got lamp guards on mine.
Cheers

I'm not sure how to remove the lamp guards. I imagine they have either 2 or 4 screws / bolts holding them on.
The headlights are not difficult to remove. About 5 mins work to remove both.
To get the lights out remove the grill. 3 plastic screw things at the top. It lifts out. Each light is held in with three screws. 2X Large Philips head at the top and 1X Phillips head holding a 90 degree bracket on the lower inside. There is a plastic flap to move out the way to access this screw. The light pulls out forward. Unclip the wiring harness and the light will be completely removed. The painted plastic part unclips from the bottom of the headlight.
You don't have to remove the headlight to use the lens cleaner, but I found it easier when removed. Especially if you have a Bullbar.
Good luck.

I did mine in place and only bought the polish part of the kit. Easy job!

I hear toothpaste works well too.
Is that kit the one with the different grades of sand paper?
I tried that kit and the headlights didn't stay good for very long. I've now just bought the buffing goop instead. Less effort and same result!

Yes, the toothpaste option with a soft brush is a really good one. Definitely one of the cheapest!

Yes it is the one with 4 different sand paper pads. I think the longevity of the clear effect comes from reapplying the UV protestant.

Opps! What I meant to say was that , following a tip in a previous thread on here, I used autosol metal polish on my D2a lights. Need to give them a good rubbing but I can tell you it works well

Or $4.00 for a can of Aerogard... And a rag.
Then buy some 3M Clear sheet (has UV filtering in the sheet) and apply over the headlight - will prevent it coming back...

When you're finished the headlight makeover
I use autoglym bumper gel to maintain the finish and is easier to apply

I did my wife's Honda Jazz last weekend with Autosol metal polish , then polished with Plexus Perspex cleaner /protector.
Cost nothing as I had both.
Result was excellent.

Had a tip from a mechanic mate of mine today ... fly spray. Yep, spray it on, leave it for a couple of minutes and then wipe off.
