I just took delivery of the APT snorkel
APT Fabrication Custom Land Rover Parts & Accessories - APT Perentie Snorkel | Perentie (http://www.aptfabrications.com.au/defender/product/282-apt-perentie-snorkel-perentie)
The kit comes with a spacer, but even with that it will still rub against the drivers side windscreen hinge. So I'm thinking of doubling the width of the spacer to give clearance. But before I go down that route would be interested to see if anyone else has fitted one.
Have sent Ben at APT an email, so will advise what he reckons I could do.

Sorry mate but thanks for pointing it out to me - lucky enough to get it for Christmas - lucky me. Managed to get out on the boat yesterday, didn't catch the great white though.
Managed to get the snorkel installed this afternoon. Reckon I miscalculated since there is enough clearance to the windscreen hinge.

Hm, I don't think it looks right on your truck. You might have to put it on mine haha
So it's all good mounted up then?

Yeah mate. Just took 2 holes threaded to 6mm, and its nice and secure. A bit daunting drilling the 2 holes though. Talk about measure twice drill once, must have measured it countless times.

Good stuff!
How does it join up under the fender? Do they supply some 4" flexible duct and a reducer?

Comes with a replacement grill, and the hose attaches to the snorkel with the existing screw clamp through the grill. Might reseal it with some silicone in the future but seems nice and secure.

Just picked 1 up myself but I'm having the clearance issue you first mentioned, very interested in what you changed to give the clearance. In the mean time I'm gunna sleep on it and have another look in the am.

Hi Ben,
I thought there was a clearance issue, but once I had secured the snorkel it fitted fine. The tolerances are tight which is why I initially thought it wouldn't fit.

Fixed mine in place today with a new vent, I'll attach a photo when I stop drooling over it....
