So im just about to get a new ECU and boost controller from TD5 Alive, im confident with the boost install but need a nanocom to do the ECU. Jose said he'd send it with some default codes but that it will need a nanocom. Ive never done this before anyone near the gold coast or brisbane have any experience theyd be willing to exchange for beer? or know of anyone/mechanics who would be setup to do this?

oh yeah its a 2000 TD5 defender

as always gentleman much appreciated.

I did exactly what you're doing and I'll give you the same advice I got:

Get a nanocom yourself. They're SO handy!

Ive had 2 faults that put the car into limp mode and my speedo was dead for about 3 months and I just used my nanocom. A dealer would have charged me bulk just to plug in something similar. (The darwin dealer was a ripoff merchant **** and if I ever set foot there again it will be to fire bomb the place).

Anyway, they're invaluable for putting in the new ECU and clearing faults like dirty airflow sensor etc.

The only thing it cannot display is EGT and l/100km in real time.

worth it. you wont regret it.

Yeah i've already been pricing them... i think ive overspent on the cooler and boost and new ECU though... it'll be a few months before im cashed up again to get the nanocom. its next on my wish list with a provent, already got the OK from the wife too! but in the meantime im hoping to make use of some members goodwill so i can get the job done. Already had about 3 PM sent to me which was awesome, again the forum extends the helping hand when needed!

cheers everyone!

Can you use a Nanocom on 1996 110's? I would love to chip mine also but have only just started researching them. Sorry to hijack your post.
