Well our camper top has finally given up and is starting to get a bit thread bare and zippers are beginning to fail after 11yrs of faithful service, I know 11yrs seems short for the canvas life, but this camper has been almost everywhere in all types of weather on an average of twice a month for 11yrs.
So imagine how many times it has been opened and closed over that period of time, mind you it still doesn't leak, even though some of the stitching has come apart.
Anyway we are off to Central Coast Campers tomorrow, to have a chat with Terry the owner and get a measure and quote on what we want, he's pretty open to any suggestions we want, I've spoken to him many times at shows and has the template for our tent top, as he did some work for Ray Clarke who built our camper.
So better days ahead and a new era for our trailer, with many more days and years of camping:D

I spoke to him last week about putting new zips on the windows and new tops over the beds on my camper. The prices he quoted were good and he was very helpful.

Just be aware that most problems with zips not sealing are to do with a worn slider.
New sliders can be bought for about $5.
My 1997 Camp'o'matic has had a few zips not seal and they have all been fixed with a new slider.
If the tent is not ripped or has pinholes through it , it can be resealed with Driseal.

Yep done that 12mths ago, the zippers are shagged now, the whole zipper needs replacing, canvas has torn at the stitching as well as being thread bare, the whole top has to come off to be repaired, new zippers, new awning and two walls of the main tent, not cheap to repair this.

Well it's on and it's bloody brilliant, the workmanship is excellent, so much better than the old top, and, it looks so much bigger than the old top, it is a lot taller, with a steeper pitch, he has also re-wired our LED lights by passing the wires internally in the uprights, put in a new bed base and improved the brackets for the pivot point for the uprights and also added gas struts.
There is always a negative to getting anything made and in our case we have one "we forgot to ask for a second door" we are so annoyed with ourselves, it never even crossed our minds and to make it worse, it was a priority when we were considering getting a new top and in the discussions we had with Terry, we completely forgot to mention it:bangin: :wallbash: :wallbash:
Anyway something we'll just have to live with now, We have a few things we need to do, re-route the wires for the LEDs back up to the power, and make a new stone guard, and because we used the second door for the shower, we'll need to work out were we are going to setup the shower, it was so easy with the second door, we just set the shower tent outside from it, which ment we could step from the shower tent into the camper and get dressed.
Anyway, here are some pics, once we set it up again I'll take some better ones.

Looks flash and will give you a good few years more fun. :)
Once the van goes I fancy getting back into a camper, will see.
At least you can blame the door on being old. :p

The soft floor camper we had for a short time had two doors. Must admit after using it once or twice we never used it again. Anyway the new cover looks pretty good Barry.

I looked at a few campers online, there are a few good ones out there, at good resonable prices too.
Anyway a bit of an update,
New Bag for the car, extra protection(mudflaps) and stoneguard for the camper.
Colour matched now:D
