I bought for my RRC a JVC media player with all the options that you have mentioned in special for $100.00.
I think that the normal price is $150.00
The sound and performance it is excellent and the hands free for the mobile works very well.
Go to repco and have a look.

The JVC unit is HERE (http://catalogues.repco.com.au/offer/car-audio-systems-speakers-subwoofers/jvc-bluetooth-ipod-digital-tuner/519nzpgkr.html'source=search&term=JVC)

Not sure if you can still get these but this is what I put into the 110:

DEH-7350BT CD Tuner with iPod Control, Front USB, 2 RCA Pre-outs and Bluetooth - Pioneer Car Stereo, Radio (http://www.pioneer.com.au/au/products/22/121/61/DEH-7350BT/page.html)

It doesn't have a sd card slot, but works the BT does everything with my Galaxy S5 except play music from it. It also worked with the Windows mobile i had before that, can't comment on Iphone as I refuse to buy them.

I mounted the remote microphone on the dash just off to one side of the steering wheel and don't have problems with conversations with others on it.

I've got a Pioneer BT365X (maybe 3665X) doesn't have a dedicated SD slot but usb works fine. The bluetooth side for the phone works great (better than the toyota bluetooth setup in the work Hilux).
The setup is one that doesn't have CD player, just mp3 etc.

Works fine with both iPhone and android (Samsung).

When I bought it it was on special at JB for $99 so an absolute bargain.

Supercheap has a sale on at present. Picked up a fusion yesterday with all minus the Bluetooth for $80 only because they were soldout of the Bluetooth model which was $100. Also have kenwood systems for around $120 with all the features. Being a softtop don't want an expensive stereo.

I had this thought and I thought I had put it up here for comment.

I was thinking of a soundbar for a tv system.

Some of them put out some awesome sound for their size.

Any thoughts?

.....lots of thinking in this post.

can anyone think of any reason why a soundbar...or two....couldnt be fitted?

Now Inc , I know nothing about this audio stuff, but when at MR Auto the other day, I picked up a card for " Audio Express " 1/1 Silvyn Rd. Redcliffe,
www.audioexpress.com.au (http://www.audioexpress.com.au) thinking if MR has their card, they must be of some value. Bob

What a disappointment, the fantasies floating thru my mind probably shouldn't be repeated. At a certain age, fantasies dominate, like I now know for sure the Socceroo's are going to win the next World Cup. OR, the one after that, OR..... Bob

Our daughter had a sony unit in a D40 Navarra, and I wouldn't say the bluetooth was very good. When she was talking to me from the ute, the transmission was not very clear.

Yep the Fusion one he fitted does have an SD card slot behind the face panel. Had a look at one last week at supercheap before deciding to get the jvc equivalent, which didn't have the SD slot but could pair to 2 bluetooth divices simultaneously.

I've installed 2 lately. A pioneer and jvc. The mic for the bluetooth is so hard to position correctly, in order to function and elminate echoing and backround noise . Id say one if the most annoying features I've found is that the JVC unit in mine doesn't automatically start playing your library. Where as the pioneer does. Also some limit the number of handsets you can save to the headset. The pioneer in my wife's car you can only connect 1!

How about something like this and less than 10cm deep.

Pyle PLR27MPBU AM FM Radio With SD USB MP3 Playback 3 5mm AUX IN Bluetooth 068888743440 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pyle-PLR27MPBU-AM-FM-Radio-with-SD-USB-MP3-Playback-3-5mm-Aux-In-Bluetooth-/231246294400?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35d75a6d80)

I've got an earlier version in the OKA, without the Bluetooth, and it's fine. No distracting flashing lights, multiple layers of programming or need to bribe a kid to change the clock for daylight saving. :D

In its day that Clarion deck was hard to beat.
I had the same deck with pre amps and big amps in an XD falcoon. Was very expensive in the day. These days the gear is better quality and cheap, dont be afaid of spending $50 or $75 more, the quality is there in the sound experience.Replace the speakers too, they will be way beyond the use by date, look out for package deals;)
