Hi,
This is yet another question on fitting an electric trailer brake controller.
I propose buying a Redarc Pro, and I tow a 1700kg Camper Trailer. I am a little confused. On enquiry, I was told that the white plug is of no use in Australia, and that I should ignore it and replace it with an Anderson Plug. Also, I was told that when fitting, the brown wire should be connected to pin 5. Definitely not the blue wire. Is all this correct?
I am getting an Auto Elec to do the job, but want to alert him to any peculiarities of the D4.
I have only had the vehicle for 2 weeks, and it is fantastic! It is a change for me as, up to date, I have had 8 Landcruisers.

Welcome to LR ownership, and the Forum too.

Sniegy is The Authority on this stuff, and this thread is the place to start looking...

As someone who now has experience in this I would strongly recommend only taking your vehicle to someone who can demonstrate LR experience.

The auto-elec I went with assured me he had LR experience, so I took him on his word, only to find after reading the thread on here that it's not been done correctly.

I actually think after reading the thread you are best off fitting it yourself.

As long as the Auto Elec checks his work afterwards & just doesn't go off color coded wiring all should be fine.
The brown wire goes to pin 5-for trailer brakes.
The blue wire is rear fog light.

If your ever in Melb. PM me & i can do it for you.
HTH.
Cheers.

Replacement plugs from narvia have wiring diagrams on back of packet, have a look next time you visit repco etc.

I solder the tips of the wires before placing in plug and tightening retaining screw.
