i use pelican and storm[storm is worth looking for on ebay], also use a large red immitation case from tradetools for my cordless drills etc, good but the latches dont have the quality of storm/pelican

I've got 4 Pelican cases that I use for work. I treat them like **** - just chuck them in the back of the car. Had them for years, still work as well as the day I got them. Dust seal is still fully functional. Expensive, yes, but worth the dollars IMO.

I have several Pelican cases that are well over 20 years old and still going strong with regular abuse. I used to sell them about 15 years ago and still use the briefcase I would run over with my car to demonstrate their durability (although it's a bit the worse for wear nowadays)!
I recently bought four Wolfpack boxes for my 90, partly because I didn't have any Pelican cases that would fit the space I have, but mostly because I wanted something significantly lighter but still reasonably strong. The Wolfpack boxes are quite good for what they are (lighter, easily stackable and cheap compared to Pelican) but their catches are rubbish (broke two on my first real trip with them) and they're not sealed like a Pelican case (although they're reasonably dust proof in the back of a Defender). You can buy metal catches to replace the crappy plastic ones (which are now on my shopping list) and also some sort of fitted cover if you're putting them on the roof, but I don't have the covers as mine live inside, strapped down to various tie down points.

One of my Pelican cases must be at least 20 years old. It has carried my cameras overseas and bounced around the back of landrovers.
They float well!
Wouldn't trust anything else with the cameras. :)

I bought a kincrome pelican rip off, seems ok. Good enough for putting my multifunction tester in. Not sure if I would trust the dust/water seal though...

I bought some pelican ex camel trophy ones years back. Still have them and still use them.
My wife uses them more than me , as she is into her cameras so they live in them. They bounce around in the back of the land rover fine.

We only use pelican cases at work these days for our down hole drilling tools. The amount of abuse they cop at drill sites without falling apart is amazing.
Cheers

I got a pelican style case from super cheap in Dec, just before my high country trip, to put my camera in. Boy was I glad that I did, the inside of the disco is covered in dust but nothing in the ($29) camera case.

I've got the 1630 case, and one each of the 1750 and 1720. The latter two are rifle cases.
The 1750 will fit a fully assembled Hi-Lift jack and a recovery kit. The 1720 fits perfectly in the rear of a defender 90 and still allows one jump seat to be used (while holding all the recovery gear, and the disassembled hi lift jack lifting mechanism only- I keep the bar outside the case).
For my money, I consider the pelican cases a Buy It For Life item. I consider my cases a little 'dust free oasis' within the defender :D

It is only a small case, the 2lt coke bottle is for size comparison
It is still covered in high country dust.
I think I paid about $29 on special for it.

The answer could have also been a Defender (or a Discovery for certain types). [emoji6]

Thanks for the info. I really like the look of that case. I may have to accidentally get a couple of those. They will stack beautifully beside the rear seat in my 90.
