Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good fabricator in Melbourne (Eastern or North Eastern hopefully) who could make and fit a rack to my camper?

Looking at fitting a boat rack style rack over the top of the folded down tent, which can flip over out of the way when the tent is being set up. Mainly want it for kids bikes and to throw wood onto when heading into a campsite, maybe put a boat on it later on down the track.

You could try Adam at Burbs engineering in Ringwood.
He has done lots of work for me on my Defender
Address: 76 New Street, Ringwood VIC 3134
Phone: 03 9844 2069

If you speak to him just say the person that he extended the cab and did the custom tray for sent you. He will remember !!

Come on Mick you are a handy bloke, knock one up in the shed ;).
I also need a similar flip over rack for bikes and other crap.

Yeah right! I do have a mig and I have played around with it, actually fixed a cracked weld on my tractor with it but it doesn't leave the property. :D

Plan on taking this camper on a lap one day and I need the rack to stay put on top of the camper and not end up in someone's radiator.

I might see if i can draw something up, on my dingo a rack will need to be a lh flip and have a creative mount for the right side as the tent is fixed on that side.

This is pretty much exactly what our set up is at the moment, minus the boat rack.
Pretty sure the boat rack was/is available from Track but obviously it doesn't flip over out of the way. Our trailer does have the SHS mounts for the Track boat rack so hoping something can be made to utilise them.

Standing at the front ours would need to flip over to the left too.

If you do get around to drawing something up Nick post it up. I've been wading through pictures and ideas of these things for awhile. Would be interested to see what ideas you have. :)
