On my list of things to do on my Perentie ever since I've had it is to do something regarding internally rustproofing the bulkhead and door frames.
Iin order to actually get it done instead of me debating about whether to do it myself or not, I'm considering taking to a local 4wd accessories firm who do rustproofing to get it treated. Beforehand though I seem to recall reading a forum post here which had some comments/suggestions regarding making provisions to maximise access for spray treatment. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it now.
In terms of access provisions for the bulkhead I planned to remove one of the door hinge-to-bulkhead screws from each of the hinges on both doors to provide an upper and lower access hole. I figure too that the pair of holes in the front face of the bulkhead just above the bonnet line will also help with access (not sure as to the purpose of these holes).....
I thought I also remember reading that the footwells are double-skinned and that it is a good idea to drill a small hole in (presumably the inside skin) for spray access.
The door frames appear to me to have reasonable access for spraying internally just as they are.
Any other hints or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Dave
