Its been in the family since 1968 - my grandfather bought it when it was a year old (15,000 miles) - and now has 64,000 miles from new. Believe it to be one of the first 6 cylinder models.

Did 2 trips around Australia in the late 60's and early 70's, a trip up the Tanami to Kununurra and back in early 80's and very little since.

Completely original apart from several broken axles and diffs. This failing resulted in it spending most of its life 'pensioned off' on blocks in a shed.

In recent times replaced the 1972 tyres, engine out to replace welch plugs and engine mounts, replaced the clutch (because it was easy with the engine out), re-cored the radiator and new water pump and hoses.

Runs exceptionally well - and hopefully will for another 48 years.

Hi Alan

Very nice straight Landy and to have a long family history with it. :BigThumb:

It is very early in 6cyl production, the Grenville books suggest that 34700031A was the first 6cyl CKD production vehicle. Whether that is in NSW or the whole of Australia is not known. But if Aus that would make your vehicle number 10 built in Oz.

Wow, that is the second SIIa six that I've seen from Vic in the last few years that is still in almost perfect condition.

It is a compliment to your family for keeping it so pristine. :)
