Hey guys

I have a 04 d2a which i just picked up last week :D and the ecu throws out codes that can't be cleared and can cause a lock up of the ecu, I've drove it for a bit with no issue but my mechanic is telling me i should change it. He suspects its been poorly flash and had a half flash hence the reason to replace it. I'm just wondering can a half/poorly flashed ecu be fixed ???

also i don't know the codes its throwing out, so ill get them next week.

Thanks Richard

Baya.
What we need in terms of information are:
ECU Model. (Found on the sticker on the opposite end of the ecu from the plugs.
Fuel Map ID (Found in the info section using a nanocom)
Variant Map ID (Found same a s fuel map ID)
Fault codes it is throwing up.

That way I / someone else here can check the maps are correct for the ECU and the engine and determine what the fault codes are and their meaning.

What do you mean lock up???

Fault codes listed should be because of incorrect software. This normally happens when you get remap file wich is a copy and not compatible.

You can check your ECU part number and see if the software ID and fuel tune ID matches with the following infos.

swdxe004swtnp004 - NNN000130
swdxe007swtnp004 - NNN000130
swdxe007swtnp006 - NNN500030

Nevertheless, this is no reason to change the ECU... just the map file :)
