Managed to salvage a CD of photos from over a decade ago, came across these images - I used to work just down the road from a Land Rover dealership and noticed one day that one of the vehicles used in the movie Judge Dredd was parked on the forecourt, so I snuck out in my lunch break with the works camera (a chunky thing that used a 3.5" disk to store the images!)
Looks like i'd also borrowed my girlfriend's Range Rover that day...

Isn't a 101 a forward control vehicle ??

A forward control vehicle will probably not be a 101.

Yes but its not an SIIA or SIIB Forward Control, the pinnacle where the thread was placed. The Judge Dredd is a 101 variant, this board we're in now. :)

I'd love to have one but in the original movie colours, looking shabby as they did.

I would love to add one to my collection. Only 2 had operating side doors - the ones the actors used. All the others are accessed by crawling through a hatch under the vehicle. That would be a hoot... :D

Indeed they were, a little place called Staverton in Gloucestershire.

Another interesting fact with these... To get the track right, the original wheels were removed, and refitted backwards.. The nuts were also refitted backwards. Im told they were even harder to steer than a std 101 and were limited to slow speeds on set due to the wheel issue!! :D

One that was driveable is 200mtrs down the road from where I work at Nowra.
I suspect someone on this site knows it well as everytime I see it ,more and more parts go missing/sold off from it.

I must admit, the idea of spaceframing a Dredd Bodyshell (and losing the original 101 cab structure) to properly make use of all the internal space, followed by a repower with a more modern engine and it has potential to be a rather tasty motor.
