MY15 Black roof headliner

I gather that all MY 15 Defenders have/will have the black roof headlining...

Great if you live 'South' perhaps... too 'hot' if you live 'North'... ;) ? Or perhaps the other way round as perhaps the black would make the interior too dark?

Thoughts...

Unless you ordered the Black Pack they come light coloured.

Either way, difference for heat totally negligible as once the heat is in the cabin the interior colour has no impact.

According to the MY15 Defender brochure I have it only comes standard as part of the Black Pack option OR available on 90 and 110 wagons at an extra cost of $600...

I only noticed this during a recent trip to the UK... the dealer there told me all MY15's came with the black headlining!

I have a MY15 with the usual light head lining. I ended up with a black 110 and got the front grille and also dash insert done in Indus silver by Barbagellos. Also got all black leather. In essence it is the silver pack but in all one colour and I cannot be happier.

I also didn't want the dark head lining because I was worried about how dark it would be. But in the end I think it is personal choice. One comment someone made on this or another forum is that the black headlining is more a felt and attracts dog hair and not so easy to clean. Can't verify this but as we have two cocker spaniels that moult like nothing on earth it was another reason to stick with the usual version.

Sounds nice EastFreo. I'm waiting for my delivery, which is a Corris Grey 110 and I went with the black headliner, full Windsor leather in the black & grey contrast (7 seats) and black dash insert. With the dealer fit (not the skinny factory ones) black side runners and black sawtooth alloys, I'm hoping she'll look a treat.

Hi Pickles. Got it through LR. It wasn't on offer on any brochure but I asked and they did it. Will take some pics tomorrow as the ones I have don't do it justice. I am really happy as it looks great with the black leather and nice stitching.

YOLO110, i just replied to your swap thread, just paint it with vinyl paint, its easy to do, i mine and it looks great, i like having a dark interior and dark tint.

EastFreo, would love to see the pics as well, i wish it was an option to get leather when i got my 2011 130.

We went them in cloth insert and leather..
Makes them much cooler to sit on.

I seriously think they are the best seats. Really comfortable. Over Xmas and new year we did a massive number of kilometres and everyone was happy. Even our nephew commented on how good his seat was in the third row seat after four plus hours in it.

The leather does get a bit hot! But a small price to pay.
