Engine and transmission help

I was looking at getting the 2a workshops engine, gearbox and transmission checked out by someone before fitting them back on,

Can anyone recommend a good place to take them?

Im not sure. I have never seen the engine run and it will have been quite a few years since it was last kicked in the guts. Just dont want it to have to be worked on after all fitted up. Plus would not mind it ending up somewhere near duck egg blue or similar. :D

I certainly dont mind helping and can travel but dont want to put anyone out as im sure there is a fair amount of work. Im looking at all of the driveline and im no expert for sure.
