last weekend saw us head to Bundjalong National Park for a relaxed weekend of beach camping . We were joined by Ian and Stef and John , his wife , Daughter an son inlaw. [ my apologies for being terrible with names.]My mother and husband also joined us coming up from the central coast .
Considering the weather leading up to the weekend, we were extremely lucky to have weather as good as it was. Black Rock camp ground proved itself to be a very relaxing and private place to stay , the beach was only a couple of minutes work offering lots of exploring among the coffee rocks that seemed to just keep going. The amenities were limited to toilets only but that helps keep the numbers down at the camp ground, the camp sites themselves were quite good with every site having a table and chairs , fire pit and a clothes line.
Thursday and Friday saw us hang around camp and the Beach, Saturday saw most of us go for a drive to Iluka for fish and chips at the co-op and then for a look at Woody Head camp ground, which is just a divine spot, a little over commercialised with the place being very busy with not overly large sites but it does have full facilities and the small inconvenience of being busy would be outweighed by how nice the spot is, somewhere I will definitely return to. We then went for a short drive along the beach at Shark Bay. I will never get sick of driving along a beach , there is something magical about it.
We had a camp fire each night with pleasant company , all in all a very relaxed weekend seemed to be had be all who attended.
Thanks to those who did attend Lesley, myself and Kids all enjoyed ourselves.
