Purging Td5 Fuel Lines

Can any one give me a clue on how to purge the air in my fuel line?( It is a TD5)
I have just done the head gasket and all is good there.However It starts some of the time as usual . Other times I have to do the pump 5 times thingo and hold your tongue out the left side of the mouth.
Seriously though, The fuel pump is a good deal louder than it was before the surgery, I can hear that it is pushing air . Never had any probs with the pump.
It seems fine on the highway and does not stop when it gets running.
What am I missing?

There is a membrane fitting on one of the fuel filter outlets, idea is it lets air through but not fuel, this helps to bleed the air out of the system. It may need replacing.

Thanks Killer any idea where I can find this filter.I only know of the one in the rear wheel arch and behind the FPR.

Did you use genuine copper washers under the injectors?

When I did my head gasket, I had to go back in, pull the injectors and put genuine LR copper washers on to seal the fuel system. no more air leaks. If it is hard to start when it's been sitting for a while I would be looking at this.

Had previously advised worane on the copper washers more than likely being the problem on his other thread, thinking he may be a tad reluctant to remove injectors again.

I can understand that! I tried everything else first :)

So did I but I ended up doing them again anyway.
The washers I got from a land rover repairer in Queensland.
They were wrong , the hole in the center was WAY too big.
When I pulled them one was tracking. All seems good now (touches wood and crosses fingers)!
