TD5 coolant bleed screw leaking

Hi all,
I was just changing my coolant on my new (to me) TD5 for the first time and it's developed a leak in the top radiator hose coolant bleed screw. The bleed screw itself has been replaced with a bolt and perhaps I overtightened it doing it up.

The complicating factor is I'm up at the farm and this is my only transport. If it needs a new top hose I'll order one, but is there a quick fix I can use to get going again and safely back to Melbourne tomorrow? I was thinking a flat washer across the face of the hose and some RTV sealant?

The problem usually is that the thread separates from the hose inside the hose causing the leak.
So the silastic idea is probably the best , If you can get the bolt to undo.

One of the problems is that bleed screw is cone shaped , so the face of the screw , and the shape of the hose form the seal . A bolt can't do that , so put a washer and some sealant on It . You could try a bit of teflon at the top end of the bolt . Don't over tighten It !!.. Jim

Thanks all, smeared the bolt with a decent amount of RTV sealant and looks to be holding up well so far. Should I replace the hose or if it stays leak free leave it?
