OK, I picked up my new Defender 90 last Friday and have been playing with it. Great fun and very very different to the dear old Series 3 and Countys I used to drive back in the 80&90's in Africa & W. Qld (certainly a love hate relationship...but I always managed to get back to base!! Nothing like changing a blown head gasket in W. Sudan to teach one bush repairs A01!!
Anyway...here's that dumb question . Is there a fuel filter in the Puma 2.2 L turbo system and where is the air filter (is it in that "box" on the LH side)?? Regards Pete

If the 2.2 is the same as the 2.4 and TD5 look in the drivers rear wheel cavity on the chassis. You will see a metal bracket fixed to the chassis and a cover around the fuel filter. Remove the retaining pin to expose the filter.
If you need to replace the filter while in the field fill the filter with fuel before you screw it on. There is no primer in the Puma series. Other owners have fancy ways to pressurise the tank to prime but that's all a bit too hard in the bush when the flies are annoying you and your skull is becoming a fried egg.
Air box on the 2.2 is behind the driver's headlight half hidden by the quarter wing panel. Dumb spot to put it. Take care of the clips. They are fragile and if broken are difficult to find a replacement. I'm still looking for a single clip. Zip ties work.
Buy a RAVE CD from Dave's shop. Make it your go to for all the things in your Defender.
Welcome back to the fold.

MLD, thanks very much for that info. You were spot on...there it was and I'm now happy. Those clips on the air filter box are a real bugger! I'll get hold of that CD. Thanks again,
Pete
