There is very high chance of auroras being seen south of Australia and New Zealand over the next couple of nights.

Get your cameras out you shutterbugs and post them up if you photograph any.

Unfortunately I'm a little far north, although very active aurorae have been occasionally seen along the southern horizon on dark nights.

As well the moon rises about midnight tonight and there are storms until then.

I hope those further south get a chance to see something in the early evening.

It's too darn cold to stand outside at the moment, that being said its a lovely clear night. And I left my good camera at work :wallbash:

Some pics on facebook (Higgins Storm Chasing) from as far north as Qld (between Blackbutt and Yarraman) obviously not as strong or vivid as the southern stuff.
