I joined the forum to hopefully find all the answers on a 'nice series 2 ' ....

This became problematic as all the good ones are 'keepers' and the others need full Restos .

So I went to my fallback position - wanted a full size comfortable touring vehicle capable of towing either my camper or caravan .

P38 fitted the bill , bought a well kept , and maintained 1995 Range Rover HSE , all the good stuff is done , Eas - Arnott airbags , Hvac - refurbed , cooling system - hoses and radiator replaced .
Everything works and it goes well , economy is averaging 13.5 - not bad for a heavy lump !
Will give it a test over the next couple of thousand kms and report back .

Want to do all the oils , pollen filters and air filters

So far , it's a belter , a comfy capable touring couch !

Welcome to the family mate!

Good to hear you've bought a keeper! Sounds like you're the full carton and will keep up the upkeep. Your efforts won't go unrewarded!

Cheers

welcome to the madhouse, lots of very knowledgeable people here so it's the place to be, and a p38 working well is a wonderful thing, well worth the effort to keep it up to scratch, and it sounds like you have a good one,

looking forward to the pictures

13.5....that's great, mine runs at 17 which I thought was not too bad. Welcome to the "love hate the P38" world......good luck!

Yes.... welcome (a bit late up the uptake as I've been burying myself in the shed under spare parts :O)

Cheer chaps !
A short update , have done just over 900km towing my camper to the Grampians for 4 days , back home to check on the animals , then down to the seaside to camp for a few days .
All goes well , could do with more power .... But I'm moving a couple of ton at least over the car and camper . We chug along at just under 100 and the economy is averaged out at 18l/100 - via a calculator !
The temp gauge is a it weird - but I bought a thermal gun in Ararat and it runs at 79.9 , the hottest I got it to was 90.9 after a long pull uphill . The connection is dicky also as if you wiggle it the gauge goes mental .......
A slight leak from the passenger side axle seal also .
Apart from that it seems , well , okay .

Hasn't used any oil or water , so my test is going well .

Will update in a few days when returning home and back to work .

Is that part of your camper trailer attached to the back of the Rangie mate or an awning of some kind?

Nice setup, though I had to stand on my head to view the pic properly :p

Reminds me of a deefer I have seen a couple of times at the LR Expo, it has an upside down banner across the top of the windscreen which says something along the lines of;

"If you can read this, please turn me over!"
